I only had 48 hours in Manchester, England. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with my time, especially when the Customs & Immigration agents acted as though being there for pleasure was an oddity. But I read some travel guides, rode the trams, and found plenty to fill my rainy weekend there.
For the record, Manchester was the site of the world’s first railway station, and the place where scientists first split the atom and developed the first stored-program computer.
Manchester is England’s 3rd most-visited city. It shouldn’t have been that surprising that I was there to be a tourist for two days.
Nah, seriously!
I love my country to bits, but Manchester? As a tourist hotspot! Pull the other one, Juliann. 😀
Seriously? I loved it! It was my introduction to England and it was all so — fantastic. 🙂
You should totally come to York. Now that’s a seriously touristy place be be! 🙂
Okay! York, it is! (No idea when, but I’ll definitely make note of it.)
I love Manchester – good museums, plenty of street art, great food (especially Spanish), canals, football, shops. A great place to discover England
