I’m diverting from travel for a minute. I saw the WordPress weekly photo challenge theme and immediately knew which pictures I wanted to share. We’re prompted to share two pictures of the same thing, one taken horizontally (as a landscape) and vertically (as a portrait) to see which approach works better for the shot.
Here are two pictures from my son’s wedding. I never have been able to decide which I like more: the landscape or the portrait shot. What can I say? They are the most beautiful couple I’ve ever seen, no matter which way you hold the camera. 🙂
They were married on a horse farm near Warner Robins, Georgia. (There! I managed to squeeze in something travel-related.) The wedding was absolutely beautiful. I stare at these picture all the time. Probably even more than they do. I’m convinced there are no bad angles when it comes to their wedding pictures.
But out of curiosity, which picture do you like better?

I like the vertical but I think it’s the way she’s looking at him rather than the perspective 🙂
I know. It warms my heart. I got lucky in the daughter-in-law department. 🙂

Have to say I agree with the proud mothers unbiased opinion 🙂 Love the second one too.
Thanks. 🙂
I like the second one, too, and the truck is also very photogenic!
I do like that truck. Her dress was vintage and there are some of her sitting inside that are beautiful, too.
I think the affectionate gaze in the second one says it all. Beautiful couple, beautiful shots! 🙂
Thanks! You’re right – the gaze makes the shot.
I love it!
Like the full shot better in the horizontal, but clearly the authentic feel of the vertical is the winner.
Yes, they both have different elements that I find appealing. This is why I can’t choose.

Lovely girl (and no doubting your son is lovely also!) Impressed by the shoeshine despite it being horse country.
Ha ha! It’s so funny you noticed that. He’s in the military, so his shoes are always shined.
