I love being on the sea. In fact, at one point in my life, I thought about joining the Coast Guard. But what I like is being on the water, not in it, and ultimately decided against a Coast Guard career. (There were many more factors than that.)
This picture shows what I love most about being on the ocean: looking down over the side of a ship and seeing the water churning and frothing below. It’s hypnotic; mesmerizing. Maybe someday I’ll live on a boat.
This is a great photo with an unusual perspective–love to hear your perspective too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Naomi! I like the way this picture turned out, too.
Ugh, terra firma for me but I see how some people are drawn to the briny.
Poetically put.
I really like the perspective of the photo too. Unfortunately, I get seasick very easily so I’m more of a look-out-to-sea-while-still-on-firm-ground kind of person as opposed to actually being on it.
Smart. I feel very fortunate that I don’t get seasick. I know it must be miserable.
Love your photo, very original angle! I too like being on the water or looking at it from shore, rather than in it 🙂
My son keeps trying to get me to try scuba-diving. He really doesn’t understand that I don’t want to be in the water. I just want to look at it, and ride the waves.
What a great angle!
The Coast Guard… I spent a couple of months near the Academy in my youth and we used to go watch the young men’s diving competition practices…. oh, what fun we had!
How fun! My husband was on his Dive team in high school. I wish I’d know him then. I would have loved to see him in action.
